STH 190 is a high volume, high-speed, divided highway that runs across eastern Waukesha County. TADI’s role in the project was to conduct the traffic engineering as part of a corridor study. This included level-of-service analysis and crash analysis for more than 45 intersections. Capacity issues were a big concern and TADI identified several unique alternatives to provide sufficient capacity for future traffic demands. As the project progressed, TADI also conducted an origin-destination study near a major intersection to better understand weaving patterns. The resulting origin-destination data allowed TADI and the project team to vet even the most unique alternatives, such as an Echelon intersection. Without TADI’s experience, attention to detail, and ability to collect origin-destination data, the best solutions may not have been brought forward.
