The Waunakee school district planned for the construction of a new intermediate/middle school to be located on the southwest side of the Village approximately ¼ -mile from their existing high school.  Construction for the new school was expected to be phased with phase 1 access provided directly opposite a local residential neighborhood.  Traffic Analysis & Design (TADI) was hired to analyze the main access points as well as the overall impact to the main signalized intersection located adjacent to the high school.  TADI’s previous work on a roundabout in downtown Waunakee located approximately one mile to the north helped to provide for a successful project.  The following elements were conducted as part of this project:
