Mequon Town Center, Spur 16 and Foxtown Development – TIA and Parking Studies

Location: Mequon Town Center – Shown Above (northwest corner of Mequon Road with Cedarburg Road, Mequon Spur 16 – north of Mequon Road, east of Buntrock Road and west of the Mequon Town Center, Mequon Foxtown Development – located south of Mequon Road, east of Buntrock Road and west of the Interuban Trail (located directly south of Spur 16)
TADI's Role: Provide Parking Studies and TIAs with recommended improvements for City and WisDOT approval.

TADI has conducted several TIA’s and Parking Studies for these Mequon Developments which compromise the “City of Mequon Town Center”. The concept is to provide a mixed-use residential, retail and restaurant master plan development in the heart of Mequon and to encourage shared trips along with bike and pedestrian trips as the development is bisected by the Ozaukee County Interurban Trail. To minimize the amount of unused parking and to maximize development areas, TADI conducted parking studies for each development to identify peak parking demands such that adequate on-site parking can be provided, but not provide excessive unused parking. All on-site parking was designed to provide 85% occupancy for the peak parking demands. TADI also conducted TIAs for these developments as these developments are along and have access to STH 167/Mequon Road, which is a heavily traveled major arterial through Mequon and Germantown. TADI evaluated several access options along with internal circulation options. TADI recommended installing signals at the Mequon Road intersection with Weston Drive, enhancing the Ozaukee Interurban Trail crossing Mequon Road, and upgrading the Mequon Road signalized intersection with Buntrock Road. The following tasks were performed:

• Data collection
• Trip generation, distribution and assignment
• SYNCHRO modeling
• Alternatives analysis
• Parking supply, demand and occupancy analysis
• Parking and TIA Reports
• Signal Designs
