Chick-Fil-A Developments Throughout Wisconsin TIAs

Location: Brookfield, Oak Creek, Pewaukee, Janesville, Delafield, Ashwaubenon and other sites throughout Wisconsin
TADI's Role: Conducting Traffic Impact Analyses (TIAs) for City, County and/or WisDOT approvals.

Chick-Fil-A has been expanding in Wisconsin and are considered high traffic generators during the lunch and evening hours due to its success in the restaurant industry. The sites are typically located along a major corridor each with its own access requirements. As part of the development approval process and access permits, either the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) or the county or municipality requires a Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA) be conducted to identify any intersection/roadway improvements attributed to the restaurant. The TIAs conducted for Chick-Fil-A include analysis of the planned and potential future access points, the adjacent intersections and also the internal circulation/drive-thru/queuing operations. TADI has strong relationships with the review agencies as well as our experience in analyzing internal circulation and intersection analyses, which allows these developments to be approved with various improvements/modifications to accommodate the peak hour traffic. The following elements were typically conducted as part of these projects:

• Data collection
• Trip generation, distribution and assignment
• Coordination with the review agencies, adjacent property owners and developers
• Internal site circulation and analysis
• Analysis of optional access alternatives (left-in/right-in/right-out)
• Alternative traffic control analysis
• Public meetings & presentations
