Amazon Distribution Centers in Wisconsin and Michigan – TIAs

Location: I-94/38th Street, Kenosha, WI; 13th Street/Ryan Road, Oak Creek, Sussex, Beloit, Wauwatosa, and other locations in Wisconsin and Michigan
TADI's Role: Provide a fast-track WisDOT TIA for WisDOT and City approvals.

Amazon’s $250 million fulfillment center in Kenosha with a footprint containing more than 1.5 million square feet was expected to have some noticeable traffic impacts. TADI delivered on this fast-track traffic impact analysis (TIA) to estimate, distribute, and analyze the auto and truck traffic generated by this enormous facility. Our analysis paved the way for safety and efficient operations of the affected roadway network. TADI’s track record of successfully completing massive TIAs on short schedules enables developers to have confidence that the traffic portions of their developments will be done right, and on time. Amazon began operating the distribution facility less than one year after attaining final city approvals. TADI also completed similar fast-track TIA’s for other Amazon sites in Oak Creek, Sussex, Bristol/Kenosha, Beloit, Wauwatosa, and other sites in Wisconsin and Michigan.

The following tasks were performed for each of these TIAs:

• Data collection
• Trip generation, distribution and assignment
• SYNCHRO modeling
• Alternatives analysis
• TIA Report (approved)
